WE LEFT HER ALONE FOR 1 MINUTE...1 MINUTE!!!!!!! We were making our Vegan SUper Moist Chocolate Cake.

The kids are off school this week for SKI WEEK, but we aren't skiing! Chris just got back from South Africa and we were just in the States (followed by the flu!) so mom made the call and decided we all needed some down time. It has been a great week, reminding me of our homeschooling days. I never understand people who don't enjoy being "home". These past few days have been full of lego building, book making, painting, baking cookies and a chocolate cake, reading, Scrabble, Math Bingo and so much more. We finally drug ourselves out to Frankfurt yesterday to visit the Natural History Museum. It wasn't the SMithsonian, but was a great "smaller" version.

Walking on dino footprints

On Monday we got another 5-6 inches of snow. Our house is really unique in that it is 3 levels with the main living space on the second level. We have big windows all the way around, so beautiful views when it snows! This is the view from the front window. The tall tower is the castle across the street.

THE FLU

WHere have we been? On the couch with a fever for 6 days (me!) Layne for 7! BLAH...both feeling better but life has kept going while we were out so time to catch up.

Several people are asking how we treat the flu. Oscocillium at the first symptoms, Lots of Vit C , enchincaea, juice, double up on Juice Plus. After we found out Layne had a bacterial infection also and went on antibiotics-I added Probiotics and tons of yogurt. Its a lot of work to treat naturally-but it supports the body for a more thorough healing--I believe it could have been weeks or months before we were truly well.

I also am not an advocate of TV when sick. I dont like the energy it creates and its not restful. We listen to lots of music, books on tape, JIm Weiss and when Layne was up to it she went into our classroom and painted or played. She would come back to the couch when she needed rest.

Both feeling pretty good today..
